Doris Joyce Schipper age 83, of Holland, formerly of Overisel, died peacefully surrounded by her family on January 31, 2010 in Ft. Myers, FL.
She was a member of Overisel Reformed Church where she was active as a Sunday School teacher, church organist and member of the Lady’s Guild. Doris was a former school teacher and member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sena Kalmink.
Doris is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wayne; children, Connie and Bruce Wyckoff of Zeeland, Karl and Joan Schipper of Zeeland, Tim and Barb Schipper of Holland, Cal and Laurie Schipper of Overisel; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bernice and Vern Ekema of Holland, Ronald Kalmink of Hamilton, Evelyn and Eugene Berens of Dunningville, Austin Kalmink of Hamilton; in-laws, Eunice Vandenbelt of Holland, Harris and Stella Schipper of Borculo; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Overisel Reformed Church, A4706 142nd Ave. Holland with Rev. Scott Lokers officiating. Burial will be in Overisel Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th ST. Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Gideons International.
